Cuban Dance Etiquette: Code of Conduct & Studio Etiquette

Welcome to BVTM Cuban Dance! To ensure a safe, fun, and respectful environment for everyone, we ask all students to follow our dance conduct guidelines and adhere to proper studio etiquette.

Respect & Safety

Zero Tolerance for Harassment: We are a community of respect in the world of Cuban dance. Any form of harassment, unwanted advances, or discriminatory behavior will result in immediate removal from the studio without a refund.

Consent is Key: While we engage in social dancing, studio etiquette and personal space matter. If a partner asks for more space or declines a specific move, please respect their request immediately.

The 'Tap Out': Anyone has the right to stop a dance at any time for any reason (injury, discomfort, or fatigue). No questions asked.

On the Floor

Rotation: In our Cuban dance group classes, we rotate partners frequently. This method is the best way to learn! If you and a partner prefer to stay together for personal reasons, please inform the instructor before class starts. As for dance conduct, please leave the teaching to the instructors. Unless a partner is physically hurting you, avoid giving unsolicited advice on the dance floor to maintain proper studio etiquette.

Hygiene & Attire

Dance Floor Care: Please wear clean dance shoes or suede-soled shoes to ensure proper dance conduct, especially during Cuban dance sessions. Avoid street shoes that bring in dirt or scuff the floor. Freshness: Because we dance in close proximity, please be mindful of personal hygiene. Breath mints and deodorant are your best friends!
